Guildrun Dragomir guide: quick answer

Dragomir is a melee Assassin whose Devour first gains Omnivamp, then deals damage scaled by Magic and Omnivamp, and only awards Shards if the cast gets the kill. The Sanguine has the strongest official current signal in Red Rift, though Update 0.5.1 reduced its immediate stability. The Greedy converts kills and spendable Shards into economy and permanent stats, while The Kingpin converts cumulative Shard generation into Rush-based Assassin/Vanguard Backup support. Every direction depends on starting the kill loop; bosses or high-health targets can stop it. This page uses current data, official patches, and community reports, not independent playtesting.

How Dragomir's Devour loop works

The current third-party data text gives Devour a strict order: Dragomir first gains 1 + 10% of Crit as Omnivamp, then deals 250 + 200% Magic + 1000% Omnivamp damage. If Devour completes the kill, it generates 2 + 2×Rank Shards. That ordering connects the stats: Crit improves the Omnivamp granted before the hit, and that Omnivamp immediately enters Devour's damage scaling. Omnivamp can also return health when damage is dealt, but it does not prevent control or guarantee survival before the cast.

The successful loop is: gain enough Mana for the first cast, reach a finishable target, gain Omnivamp, secure the Devour kill, receive Shards, then let the selected specialization turn those resources into permanent growth, another cast, or team support. A normal attack kill is not described as awarding Devour's Shards; the current text attaches the reward specifically to a Devour kill.

The negative loop matters just as much. If the first Devour does not kill, Dragomir receives no Devour Shards. Sanguine also misses its 60-Mana refund and Stealth, while Greedy loses the bonus kill income needed to fund later casts and purchases. Starting Mana, Mana regeneration, Magic, Crit, Omnivamp, target health, and safe access to that target all affect startup. No source supports a universal stat threshold or DPS conversion.

Guildrun Dragomir specializations

Dragomir's three current paths answer different resource questions: spend Shards for personal permanent growth, chain executions through on-kill refunds, or preserve cumulative Shard generation as a Backup team payoff. They are not a fixed all-mode ranking.

Third-party game-data reference
The Greedy
On-board Shard economy and permanent Crit / Omnivamp growth

Current effect

Devour kills generate 2 + 1×Rank additional Shards. On cast, Dragomir consumes 2 Shards to permanently gain 1 + 1×Rank Omnivamp and the same amount of Crit.

Required trigger

Reach a target, cast repeatedly, keep at least 2 Shards available, and secure Devour kills for the extra income.

Patch / community context

Community Red Rift reports use it as an early economy engine; a 681-Shard result required an early A rank, Shard Plunderer, and a two-hero run.

On-board or Backup

On board; its value comes from Dragomir personally casting and killing.

Main weakness

Every cast competes with shop spending, and permanent growth slows when kills or Shards dry up.

Official patch evidence
The Sanguine
On-board lowest-health execution and chain casting

Current effect

On cast, gain 5×Rank Omnivamp and teleport behind the lowest-health enemy. A Devour kill restores 60 Mana and grants Stealth for 4 seconds.

Required trigger

A reachable low-health enemy that Devour can finish; the kill is required for the Mana refund and Stealth.

Patch / community context

The 0.5.1 developer notes called it Dragomir's Red Rift top specialization, then reduced its immediate stability.

On-board or Backup

On board as an Assassin carry or wave finisher.

Main weakness

A failed execute breaks the refund loop, while teleporting can expose Dragomir to control or focus.

Single-source community report
The Kingpin
Assassin / Vanguard Rush Backup support

Current effect

During Rush (8), Assassins and Vanguards gain 1 Omnivamp and 1 Crit per Shard generated during the run. The current text marks this effect Backup.

Required trigger

A Rush trigger, meaningful cumulative Shard generation, and Assassins or Vanguards that can use the stats.

Patch / community context

One Steam economy discussion preferred this payoff in a Shard-focused run; broader outcome evidence is limited.

On-board or Backup

Primarily Backup, trading Dragomir's personal Devour loop for a team-wide payoff.

Main weakness

It underperforms when the team lacks Rush, Shard generation, or eligible damage dealers.

Community-reported Guildrun Dragomir build directions

There is no independently verified “best Dragomir build.” Current evidence supports three distinct directions with different triggers and opportunity costs. The 681-Shard screenshot, the bottom-right opener, and the Kingpin preference each remain conditional community evidence rather than baseline outcomes.

Official patch evidence
The Sanguine Red Rift chain-kill direction
Core specialization: The Sanguine

Trigger sequence

Start with a finishable target → gain cast Omnivamp → teleport → secure the Devour kill → receive 60 Mana and Stealth → seek the next execute.

Required early signal

Dragomir can reach and finish a low-health unit before being controlled or focused.

Support

A stable opener, target softening, frontline or control, and a separate answer for high-health bosses.

Stats / modifier categories

Starting Mana, Mana regeneration, Magic, Crit, Omnivamp, and survival long enough to cast.

Mode context

Red Rift has the strongest official signal; do not transfer that ranking to every mode.

Positioning principle

Leave a safe route to the first target and account for the teleport landing behind the lowest-health enemy.

Economy trade-off

Prioritizes combat tempo and chained casts over Greedy's additional Shard income.

Failure condition

The first target survives, the teleport lands in danger, or the boss offers no killable add to restart the loop.

Patch sensitivity

Patch-sensitive: 0.5.1 changed cast Omnivamp from 4 + 4×Rank to 5×Rank and kill Mana from 70 to 60.

Single-source community report
The Greedy Shard-economy direction
Core specialization: The Greedy

Trigger sequence

Secure Devour kills → generate base and bonus Shards → keep 2 Shards for later casts → convert casts into permanent Crit / Omnivamp → improve future Devours.

Required early signal

An early Greedy rank and reliable Devour kills; random Shard modifiers materially change the ceiling.

Support

A small, stable core that protects Dragomir and converts rerolls or purchases into boss damage.

Stats / modifier categories

Shard generation, Crit, Omnivamp, Mana access, and random Assassin modifiers such as Shard Plunderer.

Mode context

Community Red Rift economy direction; the 681-Shard run is a high-condition example, not a target or average.

Positioning principle

Give Dragomir access to a finishable early target without exposing the rest of the small roster.

Economy trade-off

Every Greedy cast can consume 2 current Shards, competing with rerolls, items, relics, and team upgrades.

Failure condition

Missed kills, no Shards to consume, or investing in economy without buying enough boss damage and survival.

Patch sensitivity

Permanent-stat behavior after Retrain remains community-reported and version-sensitive.

Single-source community report
The Kingpin Assassin / Vanguard Backup direction
Core specialization: The Kingpin

Trigger sequence

Generate Shards during the run → move Dragomir to Backup → trigger Rush (8) → eligible Assassins and Vanguards receive cumulative Crit and Omnivamp.

Required early signal

The run already has a Shard engine plus eligible heroes that benefit more than on-board Dragomir would.

Support

Rush access and Assassin / Vanguard carries; names should follow the actual offered roster rather than a fixed recipe.

Stats / modifier categories

Shard generation and Rush first; ordinary Dragomir carry stats matter less while he is in Backup.

Mode context

Mechanically current, with one supporting Steam economy report and no broad mode comparison.

Positioning principle

Backup placement is the point; this is not a claim that Kingpin makes Dragomir a conventional frontliner.

Economy trade-off

Uses cumulative Shards already generated, allowing the current balance to be spent while retaining the recorded-run payoff.

Failure condition

No Rush trigger, few generated Shards, or a team whose main units are outside Assassin / Vanguard.

Patch sensitivity

Recheck after any change to Rush, Shard accounting, or Backup wording.

Guildrun Dragomir Red Rift strategy

Early Devour kills have extra value in Red Rift because the first Shards can fund Greedy growth, rerolls, or purchases before later fights. One player recommends placing Dragomir in the bottom-right for the first PvE fight to secure a Devour kill and two extra Shards. The author explicitly calls the post non-expert advice, so treat that tile as enemy-layout and version sensitive: use it only when the first target, starting debuff, and path to the kill match the example.

Small two- or three-hero cores can reduce exposure to the mode's Hero Death Limit and concentrate upgrades, but that is a Red Rift roster choice rather than a Dragomir-specific official rule. Greedy can improve early Shard economy; Sanguine can use kill refunds and Stealth to keep moving through ordinary waves; Kingpin can become a Backup payoff after enough Shards have been generated.

The recurring warning is boss conversion. Community reports describe Dragomir and similar on-kill economy heroes clearing normal rounds and creating resources while contributing less against a single high-health boss. A Red Rift plan should therefore watch whether the board has a reliable single-target carry, frontline, or control tool. Old Sanguine screenshots and videos are patch-sensitive after the 0.5.1 Omnivamp and Mana changes.

Shard economy: spend, bank, or scale

Shards are not one undifferentiated number. The current balance can be spent by the shop or by Greedy. The cumulative amount generated during the run is the wording used by Kingpin. Permanent Greedy stats are a third state already converted into Crit and Omnivamp. Keeping those values separate prevents a large generation total from being mistaken for a large current balance.

Separate spendable Shards, cumulative generation, and permanent stats before making a purchase or Retrain decision.
Resource stateWhat it doesDecision risk
Current ShardsThe spendable balance for shops and Greedy cast costs.Do not confuse it with all Shards generated this run.
Cumulative Shards generatedThe Kingpin's Backup scaling reference.Spending the current balance does not necessarily erase the recorded generation total in the current text.
Greedy cast cost2 Shards per cast when available, converted into permanent Crit and Omnivamp.Repeated casting can starve rerolls, items, relics, or team upgrades.
Permanent Greedy statsStrengthen later Devour casts and sustain during that run.Retrain persistence is community-reported, not confirmed as current official design.

The real decision is opportunity cost: a Greedy cast can strengthen later Devours, but the same 2 Shards may have funded a reroll, item, relic, or upgrade that helps the entire team or fixes boss damage. Current public sources do not establish a fixed Shard-to-gold value or universal spending ratio.

Stats, items, relics, and rank modifiers

Build around the actual missing link in the Devour chain:

  • Omnivamp enters Devour's damage formula and can sustain Dragomir after damage lands; it does not solve control, burst, or a lack of killable targets.
  • Crit increases the Omnivamp gained at the start of Devour and can connect with random Assassin modifiers.
  • Magic directly scales Devour damage but does not create Greedy's permanent growth by itself.
  • Starting Mana and Mana regeneration decide how quickly the first Devour arrives and how painful a failed Sanguine execute becomes.
  • Defense and Max HP matter when melee positioning makes Dragomir a soft frontliner, but durability cannot replace the damage required to secure the kill.
  • Shard generation feeds Greedy economy or Kingpin's payoff, while its source and randomness still matter.

Shard Plunderer, Shard Collector, Critical Defenses, Critical Invigoration, Lurker, and From the Shadows are random class modifiers, not built-in Dragomir skills or guaranteed upgrades. Public examples do not compare enough item and relic alternatives to name a best-in-slot list. Treat on-kill Shard, Crit, Omnivamp, Mana, and survival effects as categories to evaluate against the current board rather than mandatory equipment.

Dragomir team synergies and role transitions

Dragomir most clearly needs help with the parts Devour cannot guarantee: softening the first target, absorbing initial focus, controlling dangerous enemies, and finishing a boss after the on-kill chain disappears. Existing community templates connect him with Assassin and Shard-focused teams, but those public lineups need 0.5.1 verification and do not prove a fixed Zuri/Hoyoung/Dragomir core.

Kingpin creates the most explicit class synergy: during Rush, cumulative Shard generation grants Crit and Omnivamp to Assassins and Vanguards from Backup. One Red Rift clear used Niklas and Dragomir as frontliners with Tilly as the carry, but that is one board, not evidence that Dragomir is a stable tank.

A useful role framework is early kills and economy → mid-run carry or soft frontline → continued Sanguine execution, Kingpin Backup, or replacement by stronger boss damage. It is a pivot framework, not a recommendation to Retrain every run.

Dragomir positioning and targeting

As a melee Assassin, Dragomir needs access to a target that Devour can finish without taking lethal focus before the cast. Sanguine complicates the formation because it teleports him behind the lowest-health enemy; inspect the expected landing area, nearby control, and the next enemy likely to target him instead of treating the starting hex as his final position.

A frontliner can absorb opening pressure, but fixed front-row or back-row rules are unreliable. Critical Defenses and From the Shadows, for example, come from different random modifier conditions and should not both be assumed. The community bottom-right Red Rift opener belongs to one first-fight layout. Re-evaluate it whenever the enemy formation or starting debuff changes.

Failure conditions and when to pivot

  • The first Devour does not kill: look for target softening, earlier Mana, more direct scaling, or a different carry rather than waiting for an on-kill engine that never starts.
  • Greedy consumes the shop budget: pause personal scaling when the team lacks frontline, control, boss damage, or a critical upgrade.
  • Sanguine teleports into danger: change which enemy becomes lowest health, improve control, or abandon the chain-kill plan for that encounter.
  • A boss offers no killable adds: convert Dragomir's earlier economy into a single-target answer instead of equating wave success with boss DPS.
  • Kingpin lacks Rush or eligible heroes: keep Dragomir on board under a different path or spend the slot on a Backup effect the current team can trigger.
  • A Retrain plan assumes permanent stats remain: treat two community observations as version-sensitive and recheck after patches; official notes document related historical bugs, not a current design guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Dragomir build in Guildrun?

No single build is independently verified. Sanguine has the strongest official Red Rift signal, Greedy supports Shard economy and permanent growth, and Kingpin is a conditional Assassin/Vanguard Backup payoff.

How does Dragomir's Devour ability work?

Current data says Devour first grants 1 + 10% of Crit as Omnivamp, then deals 250 + 200% Magic + 1000% Omnivamp damage. A Devour kill generates 2 + 2×Rank Shards.

Which Dragomir specialization should I choose?

Choose Sanguine when reliable executes can chain, Greedy when early kills and Shard income can fund both growth and the team, or Kingpin when a developed Shard engine can support Rush Assassins and Vanguards from Backup.

Is The Sanguine still good after Update 0.5.1?

The official notes still identify why it was strong in Red Rift but deliberately reduced its immediate stability. Current sources do not establish a new all-mode ranking after the change.

Is Dragomir good for Red Rift?

Official and community evidence supports his Red Rift relevance, especially Sanguine and Shard economy. Results still depend on securing early kills and adding a plan for bosses.

How does The Greedy generate and spend Shards?

Its current text adds Shards to Devour kills and consumes 2 current Shards on cast for permanent Crit and Omnivamp. Those cast costs compete with other Shard purchases.

Is The Kingpin an on-board or Backup specialization?

The current text marks it Backup. Its value is the Rush bonus for Assassins and Vanguards based on cumulative Shards generated during the run.

Why does Dragomir struggle against some bosses?

Single high-health targets can deny the Devour kill, Shards, Sanguine Mana refund, and Stealth that make normal-wave chains accelerate. Community reports repeatedly identify this conversion gap.

What stats matter most for Dragomir?

Magic and Omnivamp scale Devour damage; Crit increases the cast's opening Omnivamp; Mana access controls startup. Survival stats matter only if they help him reach and complete the cast.

Does Dragomir keep permanent Greedy stats after retraining?

Two community reports say the stats persisted, but no current official source confirms that behavior as intended. Historical Retrain-effect bugs make this version-sensitive.

Where should Dragomir be positioned in the first Red Rift fight?

One non-expert report uses the bottom-right to pursue an early kill. It is not a universal formation; verify the enemy layout, starting debuff, target health, and Sanguine landing area.

Are these Dragomir builds independently tested?

No. This guide is community-researched and source-backed, but this site did not independently play or verify the builds.
