Current Guildrun tier list quick answer

This Guildrun tier list is a provisional, independent ranking for Guildrun Demo version 0.5, checked July 23, 2026. Aria, Irini, Gustav, and Tilly currently form the S tier because Leyline’s release patch describes exceptional results for them in SSS, Red Rift, or deep Endless, with Irini and Tilly also receiving repeated positive community reports. Kai, Sal, Skorn, Pollen, and Fiona sit in A tier: each has a strong official performance signal, but recent nerfs, specialization dependence, or narrower evidence makes a permanent S label premature. B-tier heroes can still be excellent when their intended engine appears. No hero is forced into C tier because the available evidence does not justify calling any current hero broadly weak. The remaining roster stays in Testing until better version-matched runs are available. Positioning, specializations, items, relics, difficulty, and team fit can move any hero above or below this snapshot; it is not an official Guildrun hero tier list.

Version and testing status

This page is checked against Guildrun Demo version 0.5, released by Leyline on July 16, 2026, and community discussions published from July 19 through July 21. The page was last checked and updated on July 23, 2026. No newer official patch or public Steam build number was found during this research pass, so the page does not invent one.

The strongest evidence comes from Leyline’s own balance commentary. It names mode-specific high performers, explains specialization win-rate patterns, and records the changes shipped in 0.5. That is still not an official tier list: the S/A/B placements are an editorial translation of official facts using the methodology below. Reddit reports add practical context, but they are not controlled tests. When two independent discussions point in the same direction, the entry says so; isolated or incomplete reports stay single-source or Testing.

Guildrun’s official Steam description advertises weekly patches. Recheck this ranking after any balance update, specialization change, bug fix, or major shift in Demo data.

Guildrun hero tier list methodology

The ranking asks how dependable a hero appears across a changing roguelike run. It does not assign a hidden mathematical score, and it does not equate one powerful specialization with permanent hero-wide strength.

Flexibility
How easily the hero keeps value across different teams, specializations, items, relics, and mid-run pivots.
Scaling
Whether the hero continues to contribute in SSS, Red Rift, or Endless instead of relying only on an early spike.
Survivability
How reliably the hero performs with reasonable protection, without assuming a perfect formation or defensive roll.
Team utility
Value beyond personal damage, including shielding, debuffs, control, Backup effects, and support for a shared engine.

Ease of use, item and relic dependence, positioning tolerance, pivot value, and consistency across SSS, Red Rift, and Endless are secondary considerations. S tier means the current evidence supports unusually broad or repeatable value. A tier means strong with a clearer condition. B tier means useful but more build-, mode-, or timing-dependent. C would mean a narrow current application with credible comparative evidence—not “unusable.” Testing means the page lacks enough current evidence to force a letter.

Guildrun tier list: S, A, B, C, and Testing

The table is deliberately conservative. It ranks all heroes that have enough traceable evidence and preserves a visible Testing queue for the rest of the 25-hero Demo roster. “Best fit” describes the environment in which the current judgment makes sense, not a required recipe.

Version 0.5 editorial ranking checked July 23, 2026. An empty tier is intentional.

Why each Guildrun hero is ranked there

Every entry separates four layers: an official fact, this site’s editorial assessment, a community observation, and the remaining test requirement. Starting classes come from an unofficial reference built from shipped Demo data; because the official pages consulted do not publish a full hero-by-hero class table, the cards do not mislabel those class names as official confirmation.

S TierEditorial assessmentData role: Mage
Aria
A provisional S-tier pick because Leyline described her as a major SSS win-rate outlier before applying Demo 0.5 nerfs.
Official fact
Leyline said Aria had nearly a ten-point SSS win-rate lead over every other hero before reducing Requiem Barrage in version 0.5. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A provisional S-tier pick because Leyline described her as a major SSS win-rate outlier before applying Demo 0.5 nerfs.
Community observation
No hero-specific community result was needed for this placement. Community reproduction is still welcome.
Testing required
The performance statement is official; assigning S tier after a direct nerf is this site's provisional interpretation.
Strengths
Exceptional official pre-patch SSS performance signal; Clear damage identity
Limitations
Version 0.5 directly reduced her active ability; Post-patch results are not yet public
Positioning
Treat her as a protected damage source; the current evidence does not establish a universal hex.
Specializations
Her current tier needs a post-0.5 check because the official note describes performance before the nerf.

S TierRecurring community observationData role: Duelist
Irini
The strongest cross-mode case in this pass: Leyline called her the top Red Rift performer and top-tier in SSS, while players report flexible carry setups.
Official fact
Version 0.5 notes identify Irini as the top Red Rift performer and a top-tier SSS hero, with all three specializations described as viable. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
The strongest cross-mode case in this pass: Leyline called her the top Red Rift performer and top-tier in SSS, while players report flexible carry setups.
Community observation
Recurring observations appear in 2 separate r/Guildrun discussions, but the reports do not control every item, relic, difficulty, or formation.
Testing required
Official balance commentary and two separate Reddit discussions point in the same direction; exact builds remain situational.
Strengths
Official cross-mode performance evidence; Three viable specialization paths
Limitations
Small base-stat nerf in version 0.5; Community item-retrain setup still needs reproduction
Positioning
Keep her alive long enough to convert her damage path into value; no single formation is supported.
Specializations
Her official note supports unusual specialization flexibility, but the Zeus's Thunder retrain trick is community-derived.
S TierEditorial assessmentData role: Mystic
Gustav
A high-confidence provisional S-tier support/scaler because the official patch notes place him near the top in SSS, Red Rift, and Endless.
Official fact
Leyline called Gustav a top hero in SSS and Red Rift and noted that he was beginning to top Endless leaderboards. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A high-confidence provisional S-tier support/scaler because the official patch notes place him near the top in SSS, Red Rift, and Endless.
Community observation
No hero-specific community result was needed for this placement. Community reproduction is still welcome.
Testing required
The cross-mode performance description is official; S tier is an editorial translation of that version-specific evidence.
Strengths
Official evidence across three modes; Shielding and long-fight scaling
Limitations
Glacier and base shielding were nerfed; Power can depend on a specific specialization
Positioning
Protect him when the build relies on repeated casts or long-fight scaling.
Specializations
The Glacier note is the strongest evidence, so his base value should not be confused with that specialization's ceiling.

S TierRecurring community observationData role: Warrior / Duelist
Tilly
A strong scaling candidate with official top-performance notes for SSS, deep Endless, and Red Rift plus recurring community carry reports.
Official fact
Leyline described The Sharp as a top performer in SSS and deep Endless, and The Elegant as a top Red Rift specialization. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A strong scaling candidate with official top-performance notes for SSS, deep Endless, and Red Rift plus recurring community carry reports.
Community observation
Recurring observations appear in 2 separate r/Guildrun discussions, but the reports do not control every item, relic, difficulty, or formation.
Testing required
Official notes and more than one player report support her ceiling; the exact post-nerf floor still needs testing.
Strengths
Multiple high-performing specialization paths; Strong late-run scaling evidence
Limitations
Both highlighted paths were nerfed in version 0.5; Needs matching Shard or stat support
Positioning
Her value rises when she can attack safely and survive long enough for scaling effects to matter.
Specializations
The Sharp and The Elegant support different modes; neither proves every Tilly setup is S tier.
A TierRecurring community observationData role: Warrior
Kai
A reliable A-tier anchor with three officially described strong specs and repeated community success in Mystic shield teams.
Official fact
Leyline said all three Kai specializations were playable and strong and that he was outperforming other Warriors before version 0.5 tuning. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A reliable A-tier anchor with three officially described strong specs and repeated community success in Mystic shield teams.
Community observation
Recurring observations appear in 2 separate r/Guildrun discussions, but the reports do not control every item, relic, difficulty, or formation.
Testing required
Official balance notes and multiple players across two discussions support A-tier flexibility without proving a universal S placement.
Strengths
Broad specialization viability; Shield scaling and team compatibility
Limitations
Version 0.5 reduced several scaling values; Needs time and protection before early casts
Positioning
Use a frontline that lets Kai and supporting Mystics reach their first cast cycle.
Specializations
The Unstoppable shield interaction is the most repeated community example, not a universal best path.
A TierEditorial assessmentData role: Mage
Sal
A high-ceiling A-tier pick because The Brisk reached the top overall specialization performance before a targeted version 0.5 adjustment.
Official fact
Leyline said The Brisk had spiked to the top overall specialization win rate before its version 0.5 changes. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A high-ceiling A-tier pick because The Brisk reached the top overall specialization performance before a targeted version 0.5 adjustment.
Community observation
Recurring observations appear in 2 separate r/Guildrun discussions, but the reports do not control every item, relic, difficulty, or formation.
Testing required
The official note supports an exceptional specialization, while the A-tier hero placement discounts build dependence and a fresh nerf.
Strengths
Documented top-spec ceiling; Frost and Crit synergy
Limitations
The evidence is specialization-specific; Version 0.5 directly changed base stats and The Brisk
Positioning
Keep Sal behind a stable frontline so Crit and cast interactions have time to develop.
Specializations
The Brisk can lift Sal above this tier in the correct build; other paths need separate evaluation.
A TierRecurring community observationData role: Tank
Skorn
An A-tier frontline specialist whose Winter's Bite became a leading SSS and Endless path, with community reports also supporting shield and Stall shells.
Official fact
Leyline described Winter's Bite as Skorn's top-performing specialization in Endless and SSS by a meaningful margin before tuning it. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
An A-tier frontline specialist whose Winter's Bite became a leading SSS and Endless path, with community reports also supporting shield and Stall shells.
Community observation
Recurring observations appear in 2 separate r/Guildrun discussions, but the reports do not control every item, relic, difficulty, or formation.
Testing required
Official specialization data and separate community setups support the placement; exact formations remain unverified.
Strengths
Strong frontline specialization evidence; Stall, Frost, and shield compatibility
Limitations
Best evidence is mode- and spec-specific; Recent tuning lowers certainty
Positioning
Place him where his frontline control and durability can absorb opening pressure.
Specializations
Winter's Bite, Bristleguard, and Haughty serve different shells, so team context can move him between tiers.
A TierEditorial assessmentData role: Mystic
Pollen
A strong utility pick because Fae's Kiss led her results across SSS, Red Rift, and Endless before being reduced in version 0.5.
Official fact
Leyline called Fae's Kiss Pollen's top-performing specialization in SSS, Red Rift, and Endless. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A strong utility pick because Fae's Kiss led her results across SSS, Red Rift, and Endless before being reduced in version 0.5.
Community observation
Single-source observation from “Who's your favorite character and combos?”; treat the setup as provisional.
Testing required
The official note is strong but specialization concentration keeps the overall hero one tier below the most flexible picks.
Strengths
Cross-mode specialization evidence; Debuff and shielding utility
Limitations
A large share of power was concentrated in one path; That path was nerfed
Positioning
Protect Pollen when her value depends on repeated utility rather than immediate frontline durability.
Specializations
Fae's Kiss can look S-tier in the right shell, while other paths need more direct comparison.
A TierEditorial assessmentData role: Mystic
Fiona
A stable A-tier utility pick: Leyline described healthy results across modes and a standout Endless/SSS specialization.
Official fact
Version 0.5 notes describe Fiona as healthy across all modes and The Lustrous as a clear SSS and Endless standout. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A stable A-tier utility pick: Leyline described healthy results across modes and a standout Endless/SSS specialization.
Community observation
No hero-specific community result was needed for this placement. Community reproduction is still welcome.
Testing required
Official cross-mode language supports reliability; the precise post-nerf specialization gap still needs testing.
Strengths
Healthy cross-mode baseline; Standout high-difficulty specialization
Limitations
Top ceiling is tied to The Lustrous; Community discussion in this pass was limited
Positioning
Use the formation that preserves her utility engine; no universal position was confirmed.
Specializations
The Lustrous can perform above A tier, but this list rates the hero across available paths.

B TierEditorial assessmentData role: Mystic
Grace
A useful B-tier support whose baseline is officially healthy, but whose on-board and Backup value varies sharply by specialization.
Official fact
Leyline described Grace as healthy overall while adjusting her paths to encourage more on-board use and less reliance on Backup effects. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A useful B-tier support whose baseline is officially healthy, but whose on-board and Backup value varies sharply by specialization.
Community observation
Single-source observation from “Who's your favorite character and combos?”; treat the setup as provisional.
Testing required
Official notes support viability, but not enough dominance or flexibility for A tier in this methodology.
Strengths
Team shielding and support; On-board and reserve utility options
Limitations
Role changes by specialization; No strong cross-mode top-performer signal
Positioning
Decide whether she belongs on board or in reserve before valuing her contribution.
Specializations
The Selfless, Benevolent, and Radiant notes show that her tier depends heavily on the selected support function.
B TierEditorial assessmentData role: Assassin
Yuuna
A specialization-sensitive B-tier assassin with an officially acknowledged top path that was cut back in version 0.5.
Official fact
Leyline said repeated buffs had made The Shadow Yuuna's top specialization in every mode before reducing its Stealth and Mana. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A specialization-sensitive B-tier assassin with an officially acknowledged top path that was cut back in version 0.5.
Community observation
No hero-specific community result was needed for this placement. Community reproduction is still welcome.
Testing required
An official top-spec statement is offset by direct version 0.5 changes and limited independent community reproduction.
Strengths
Strong specialization ceiling; Poison and Stealth options
Limitations
Best signal predates a direct nerf; Assassin safety can depend on enemy targeting
Positioning
Avoid exposing her to opening focus or unavoidable area pressure when relying on Stealth.
Specializations
The Shadow and Nightshade solve different problems; post-0.5 testing should decide whether either still warrants A tier.

B TierEditorial assessmentData role: Duelist
Karsu
A B-tier specialist whose strongest path was statistically effective but under-picked, leaving less practical community evidence.
Official fact
Leyline called The Falling Snow Karsu's statistically strongest specialization while noting it had been her least picked for many patches. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A B-tier specialist whose strongest path was statistically effective but under-picked, leaving less practical community evidence.
Community observation
No hero-specific community result was needed for this placement. Community reproduction is still welcome.
Testing required
The official statistical signal supports viability, while low adoption and limited community context keep the rating conservative.
Strengths
Officially identified strongest path; Frost and Crit interactions
Limitations
Low pick rate limits practical evidence; Path received mixed buffs and reductions
Positioning
Give her enough safety to exploit repeated attacks; exact placement remains build-dependent.
Specializations
The Falling Snow may move her higher once more players test its revised version.

B TierSingle-source observationData role: Vanguard
Niklas
A flexible B-tier investment hero who can tank or carry, but whose popular Dealer path lagged his alternatives at higher difficulty.
Official fact
Leyline said The Dealer was Niklas's most popular specialization but performed worse than his other paths at higher difficulties. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A flexible B-tier investment hero who can tank or carry, but whose popular Dealer path lagged his alternatives at higher difficulty.
Community observation
Single-source observation from “Favourite setups?”; treat the setup as provisional.
Testing required
Official specialization context plus one community setup supports B tier; broader reproduction is still needed.
Strengths
Can fill damage or frontline functions; Alternative specs outperform the popular path
Limitations
Item and timing demands; Popular path can mislead beginners
Positioning
Position according to whether the current run built him as a carry, tank, or hybrid.
Specializations
The Dealer should not be treated as the default strongest path simply because it is popular.

B TierSingle-source observationData role: Duelist
Nyx
A powerful but conditional B-tier engine with Rush, Stall, and debuff paths that can overperform when the exact support appears.
Official fact
Leyline said The Spark was performing too well in Red Rift before raising several Attack Speed thresholds. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A powerful but conditional B-tier engine with Rush, Stall, and debuff paths that can overperform when the exact support appears.
Community observation
Recurring observations appear in 2 separate r/Guildrun discussions, but the reports do not control every item, relic, difficulty, or formation.
Testing required
Official Red Rift evidence is strong for one path, while the detailed community combinations are concentrated in one thread.
Strengths
High specialized ceiling; Can fit Rush, Stall, or debuff shells
Limitations
Several reported setups need exact relics or partners; Area damage can bypass Stealth plans
Positioning
Stealth protects against targeting, not every storm, area effect, or debuff; formation must account for that.
Specializations
The Spark, Rush, and Stall paths should be ranked as different builds rather than one universal hero profile.
B TierSingle-source observationData role: Warrior
Logan
A B-tier Warrior with a high late-game Juggernaut ceiling but a slower, more conditional route than the top generalists.
Official fact
Leyline said The Juggernaut had become Logan's best specialization by far and reworked it to preserve late-game scaling while reducing initial power. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A B-tier Warrior with a high late-game Juggernaut ceiling but a slower, more conditional route than the top generalists.
Community observation
Recurring observations appear in 2 separate r/Guildrun discussions, but the reports do not control every item, relic, difficulty, or formation.
Testing required
Official notes support the specialization ceiling, while community evidence about practical consistency is limited.
Strengths
Late-game scaling path; Warrior and Rush synergy
Limitations
Lower initial power; Community players reported difficulty getting him online
Positioning
He needs a formation that survives while his late-game scaling develops.
Specializations
The Juggernaut can outperform the B placement in deep runs; weaker starts reduce consistency.
B TierEditorial assessmentData role: Warrior
Reyna
A mode-sensitive B-tier carry: official earlier notes describe a strong Endless centerpiece but weaker Red Rift results.
Official fact
Leyline's July 10 notes described Reyna as central to high-performing Rush/Warrior Endless builds while struggling in Red Rift. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
A mode-sensitive B-tier carry: official earlier notes describe a strong Endless centerpiece but weaker Red Rift results.
Community observation
Single-source observation from “Who's your favorite character and combos?”; treat the setup as provisional.
Testing required
Official performance context shows both a high ceiling and a lower floor, which maps to a conservative B tier.
Strengths
High Endless scaling ceiling; Rush and Warrior team value
Limitations
Mode-dependent results; Version 0.5 context and newer direct testing are incomplete
Positioning
Give her time to scale and do not assume an Endless formation transfers directly to Red Rift.
Specializations
The Boxer, Brawler, and Rush-oriented value can place her differently by mode.
Testing TierTesting requiredData role: Assassin
Dragomir
Not force-ranked because this research pass did not find enough current, repeatable performance evidence.
Official fact
The official Steam page confirms a 25-hero Demo roster, but the consulted official material did not establish this hero's current overall tier. Official role: Not confirmed by the official sources consulted.
Editorial assessment
No S/A/B/C editorial placement has been assigned.
Community observation
Single-source observation from “Who's your favorite character and combos?”; treat the setup as provisional.
Testing required
One player praised his Devour scaling, but a favorite report is not enough for a stable tier.
Strengths
Potential value depends on specialization and team context
Limitations
Insufficient cross-mode evidence; No repeatable current-version result confirmed
Positioning
Testing should record starting position, enemy layout, target behavior, and whether the hero survives the opening exchange.
Specializations
Test each specialization separately before translating one successful build into a hero-wide rank.

Positioning and specialization considerations

Positioning can change the apparent best Guildrun heroes before any stat comparison begins. A scaling carry that dies during the opening exchange provides no late-run value. A shield or Stall engine that survives long enough to cast may make the entire board look stronger. A Stealth setup can avoid direct targeting yet still fail to storms, area damage, or debuffs. For that reason, this ranking uses positioning tolerance as a reliability factor but does not prescribe a universal hex diagram.

Specializations can move a hero by more than one tier. Leyline’s version 0.5 notes repeatedly identify one path as a standout: The Brisk for Sal, Fae’s Kiss for Pollen, The Lustrous for Fiona, Winter’s Bite for Skorn, and several different mode-leading paths for Tilly. Those facts describe a build ceiling, not the hero’s value in every run. Read the offered specialization literally, check whether the team can supply its triggers, and keep the hero’s base function separate from the specialized engine.

Re-evaluate after each major reward. A B-tier hero with the right specialization, relic, item, and formation can be the correct carry; an S-tier hero without protection or compatible triggers can be the wrong purchase.

Situational heroes and the Testing queue

“Situational” does not mean bad. Reyna’s official performance context is the clearest example: her Rush/Warrior shell was a leading Endless strategy while her Red Rift results were weaker. Karsu’s statistically strongest specialization was also under-picked. Nyx has strong Red Rift evidence for The Spark, yet other reported Rush, Stall, and Stealth setups depend on exact partners and defensive conditions.

The Testing queue serves a different purpose. Dragomir, Funke, Hoyoung, Ming, Pimenta, Ratna, Rip, Rowan, and Zuri are not placed below B; they are unranked. Several have promising player reports or relevant patch changes, but the evidence lacks full teams, difficulty, items, relics, positions, or repeatable version-0.5 outcomes. A responsible Guildrun tierlist keeps that uncertainty visible.

Useful future reports should include the Demo version, difficulty, starting hero, final team, every specialization, major items and relics, formation, boss result, and Endless floor where relevant. One screenshot of a winning board is not enough to isolate a hero’s contribution.

What may change the rankings

  • A Demo patch that buffs, nerfs, or fixes a hero or specialization.
  • New version-matched results from SSS, Red Rift, and deeper Endless runs.
  • Better evidence for heroes currently hidden by low pick rates.
  • A newly documented item, relic, or class-modifier interaction.
  • Positioning research that changes survival or targeting consistency.
  • Community testing that separates one exceptional build from the hero’s general value.
  • Full-game changes to the roster, modes, balance, or progression.

The page should not change its date without repeating the research pass. When a hero moves, the next revision should record the previous tier, new tier, change date, applicable version, reason, and original source.

Official and community sources

Official sources establish the Demo scope, version, patch cadence, and developer performance comments. Community sources contribute player-observed combinations and practical limitations. The roster reference verifies names and data roles but remains unofficial. Search snippets, AI summaries, copied tier sites, likes, and view counts were not used as ranking proof.

Frequently asked questions

What is the current Guildrun tier list?

For Demo version 0.5, this provisional list places Aria, Irini, Gustav, and Tilly in S; Kai, Sal, Skorn, Pollen, and Fiona in A; Grace, Yuuna, Karsu, Niklas, Nyx, Logan, and Reyna in B; nobody in C; and the remaining nine heroes in Testing. Conditions and evidence are explained in each card.

Who are the best Guildrun heroes?

Irini has the clearest official cross-mode statement, while Aria, Gustav, and Tilly also have strong official performance evidence. “Best” still changes with difficulty, specialization, items, relics, formation, and the rest of the team.

Is this an official Guildrun hero tier list?

No. Leyline’s official patch notes provide performance facts, but the letter tiers and methodology are independent editorial analysis supplemented by community observations.

Which Guildrun heroes are best for beginners?

This research does not yet support a separate beginner-only ranking. Kai’s broad specialization viability and Irini’s flexibility are encouraging, but a beginner should prioritize a stable frontline, readable triggers, and a team that works with the current offers.

Can specializations change a hero's tier?

Yes. The official 0.5 notes show mode-leading or standout paths for several heroes. A strong specialization can move a specific build higher without making every version of that hero equally strong.

Does positioning affect the Guildrun tier list?

Yes. Opening focus, cast timing, frontline protection, range, area damage, and enemy formation can determine whether a scaling or utility hero performs its intended function.

Why is a hero in the Testing tier?

Testing means the page found too little current, repeatable evidence. It is not a lower rank than C. The hero may be strong, but incomplete reports are not enough for a defensible letter tier.

How often is the Guildrun tierlist updated?

It should be rechecked after meaningful Demo patches and when stronger community test data appears. The current snapshot was checked July 23, 2026 for Demo version 0.5.

Does this tier list apply to the full game?

No. It applies only to the current Guildrun Demo. The full game is not yet released, so its final roster, balance, modes, and progression may differ.
